    Hello,

We are working on the Google Reader, currently there is an issue with their interface with Word Press. Once we have it fixed we will let you know.

    Thank you!

Hi, all. Any ideas about addressing itchy eyes? Only happens when I travel to the certain places in Asia. Not sure if it is air pollution or plants. Your thoughts are appreciated on either how to prevent or address this annoying aspect to traveling there!

    Hello Canadian!

If eyes are irritated in certain areas, it’s probably allergens in the air from local trees, plants and other things that you’re not used to at home. Try to keep your windows closed when driving to avoid air (and allergens) that is blowing in your face. In hotels, keep the windows closed so that outside air isn’t coming into the room. Wrap-around sunglasses might help. The best relief will most likely be from taking allergy medication to reduce sensitivity to allergens and those resulting allergy symptoms and using eye drops to rinse away allergens that are irritating your eyes.

    Hope that helps!

    Hi

Can anyone tell me what problem that I have. I feel my ear ringing most of the time and it start from last year that I rent an apartment and my neighbour lady who smoke
mint smell cigarette for more than 1 year next door to me. I had been went to emergency room for 2 times at late night. But I can not stop her being smoking. So I moved to the next room from my bed room and I slept on the carpet. About 1.5 months and I start to feel my ear ringing. I do not know if it is allergy from the carpet dust mite or other things. Last 6 months I had been looking for foreclosure houses and some of them contaminated with bad mold that the house selling agent did not really want to go in those houses to show us the home. 4 months ago I got poison ivy on me due to I clean the yard of the new bought old house. 3 months ago I swept the big yard of maple leaves from this old house and I planted some flowers on the yard. Last year I trimmed another big yard of weeds from my husband’s grand mother’s house yard.

I sometimes spite blood. (Is that because mold is in my lung ?)

My nose stuffy in the early morning. I feel well when end of March coming and when the weather getting warmer. When the winter coming I feel tight on my lung.(Doctor checked said that I had emphosima and after 2nd time checked my lung the other doctor said that I do not have emphosima, so they check my asthma, but they still can not find anything wrong.

Now I still rent a place where the landload put the carpet on everywhere except kitchen. I look at the web site and I find some web site said that they do the mold testing for people but they are in far away from where I live. Is there any other place that nearby New Hampshire, Maine or Boston that they can draw my blood and tell me what problem do I have ? What kind of doctor should I visit (Is it a allergy Doctor ?)
what kind of medicine should I buy or what should I do to keep my life going ?

    Thanks
    Maria

    Maria,

Because of the severity and range of your symptoms, it would be best to schedule an appointment with your primary care physician who can refer you to the appropriate specialists, as necessary. Your doctor can recommend appropriate steps or products that suit your symptoms. A full medical evaluation will be your best step to get the health issues under control and begin to feel better. We wish you good luck in finding these solutions and feeling better soon.

  10. It is good to know that there are other allergy sufferers around and we can sit down and share ideas and discuss what works and what doesn’t…

Maria, It seems like you have a multitude of ” allergie problems” working against you. Some of them might look very harmless ,yet could have a great effect on your health.Your ear ringing might be a result of mites from carpet sleeping or perhaps from mold (need to see a Doctor) Spitting blood is another problem that could be serious or not. I’ll tell you my story ( don’t have to fallow it) I discovered one day that I was spitting up blood.I got VERY nervos and immediatly went to the Doctor. He did some breathing tests and an MRI and send me to a lung specialist, who told me that he would put me on antibiotics for the duration of 18 month. I KNOW what antibiotics can do to ones immune system.Soooooooooo I decided NOT to fallow my Doctors orders, instead I turned to alternative medicine (special Vitamins imune boosters and I also rid my house of ALL toxins ( cleaning prod.) I must say after I did all this I feel better than I have in a long time. you can get in touch with me if you want to know more about this.

For itchy eyes question, when you go from outside rinse your eyes with water! Allergens are airborn outside and settle in your sensitive eyes. Rinsing usually clears particles. After rinsing just apply normal over the counter eye drops; Visine maybe. This works for my boy and he doesn’t need to medicate. Hope it works for you. Darlena

I have an allergy to Tide, Cheer, All, etc. detergents. I get hives in warm areas under clothing such as socks on feet. I bath and the hives stop itching and lesson but stay light pink. Then the next day additional hives and so on and on, then I get crazy with frustration. It took a while to figure it out but I have been using a tiny bit of soap and double rinsing and found it takes more to get the soap out. I believe it is the whitener in detergents. I can tolerate fabric sheets so it is not the fragrances. I had the whole realm of allergy tests and only found dust mite allergy. Does anyone have this problem too? Darlena

  14. Colleen F. says:

    Darlena,
Have you tried detergents like EnviroRite Laundry Detergent because it could be chemicals that are in detergents rather than fragrances. EnviroRite is made without those chemicals and without fragrances, too. It’s very gentle, but does a good job at cleaning. It could be that some of your allergies developed since the allergy tests, or possibly, it wasn’t something that was included in those tests. You might want to try rotating your detergent and always using one that’s gentle. It’s something that worked for my husband who has trouble with detergents, too – possibly because it’s not repeated exposure to particular ingredients in detergents.
